para la nena linda

Zipporah is adored here in Paraguay. People come up to her all the time saying what a cute girl she is, they kiss her hands, and oogle over her eyes. They say she looks like a doll. Sometimes I tell them that no she's not a doll, she's real. They ask her to give them her eyes. And she loves it. If we are in the superstore and someone comes to talk to her, when they leave she will lean over to look at them to see if they will give her more attention.
I sometimes think she is going to feel bad when we go back to Canada and it won't be quite as extreme the attention she gets, she's going to feel bad that she doesn't get as much attention. (it will probably be good for her to realize she's not the center of the world)
All this to say, this morning we were at home and Travis heard someone clapping at the gate. (it's what the do here instead of knocking on the door) So he went outside to find someone bringing Zipporah a birthday invitation to a little boys birthday, the thing is we don't know who the little boy is. On the outside of the envelope it said "para la nena linda" which means, "for the pretty girl ". They don't even know her name. They have just seen us around and want to get to know us I guess.
Well we think she's pretty cute too but we are biased parents so to us she will of course be cute, I had no idea how much one little girl could be adored.
