Ytororõ church buys a lot

Our church has found a lot that they want and are buying it!! A down payment has already been paid and now we need to raise about $17,500 to buy it and about $6250 to finish the building on it.

Then Evangelical Mennonite Conference of Canada has approved a donation of $11,000 towards the project and are working at raising this donation. They will also be giving the church a loan to complete the $17,500 needed to buy the lot. The contract with the owner will be signed on Monday

Hermes has an accident/Travis Donates blood

Our church's worship leader (a friend of mine [Travis] from 15 years ago) had an accident and was rushed to the hospital. His car was hit by a motorcycle (the driver was drunk). His main damage was cuts to his face due to hitting the windshield. Please pray that his recovery will go well and that the legal issued involved will not be a problem.

When we were at the hospital to visit him, a young lady came to our group of people and asked if anyone wanted to donate blood. In order to take blood out of the blood bank so her relative could have a needed transfusion she had to find someone to donate blood to replace the blood she was taking. Since I was the only person over 18 in the group I went. As soon as I got out I had to drive, not a good idea but no problems.

Hermes is recuperating but still has lots of time before he will be back to normal.


Feria de Ropa

A feria de ropa is basically a used clothing sale. It was a fundraiser for our church that took place on Saturday. We sold lots, had fun, and gave the community lots of cheap (in price not quality) clothing.

Sewing

On Sunday we (or the ladies of the church, and one man) started the sewing project to provide good quality warm clothing to the children of the squatter settlement behind the church and cost. They had a blast, ate lunch together (the men cooked), and sewed 10 outfits. The project continues on Sunday again.
