update on the rabbits

we have had our rabbits for  4 months and as of yet we have not eaten any. We are excited that finally we are seeing things progressing a little more.
Here we have the papa bunny, his name is "captain hook", Travis wanted to call him captain black beard, and Zippy vetoed that to name him captain hook.  He is a flemish giant which are bigger rabbits. They say it is good to cross the flemish giant with the california, or the new zealand to get a more meatier rabbit.
These are the new baby bunnies, They were born this afternoon. There are about 8 or 9. This mother rabbit is called Lola. Moi named her, it was one of the few things he could say 4 months ago.
This mother rabbit is on her last chance. This is her 3rd litter and the first one that looks like they could survive. If she doesn't take care of them this time, she will be rabbit stew.

These babies are 2 weeks old. They are at the "oh so cute how are we ever going to eat these" stage. They are doing well. This is princess bunnies second litter, and they seem to be thriving well.

Here we have the litter of what we thought was a male rabbit being female, His name was herbert meninger, but now that it's female her name is "Neja". This was a litter of 5 to begin with but one we think escaped the cage at a few weeks old, and the other was the runt who died after a few weeks.
These are 7 weeks old and growing and eating like crazy. We should be able to eat them in another 3 weeks.

Here are the cages under the mango tree for shade.
