Please Pray

Today we had planned to go to Carapegua, a town about 2 hours away. We were going to take a day trip to relax because if we stay home we have people over all day and don't get to relax. BUT, last night after church one of the ladies in the church asked me if we couldn't take her neighbors son to the doctor today.

A different one of her neighbor ladies had talked to her about this little boy who is sick, hoping she could help him, they are seriously concerned that if he doesnt get help soon he will die. His mom knows that he's sick and needed to see the doctor, but she broke her ankle really bad 7 months ago and is still recuperating from that and can't climb the steps to get on the bus, so she had no way to take him herself if she didn't ask someone else for help. And she feels bad asking for help again.

The little boy is named Jonathan. He is almost 11 months old. He used to be a healthy chubby baby and weighed 13 Kg. Now he is down to 6, one Kg less than Zipporah who is only half his age. He's had Diarrea for the last month, and I don't know what else. He's incredibly skinny, and not even eating anything anymore. We took him and his mom to the hospital this morning, I don't think he had eaten anything before that, and only drank a very little bit of water the whole time we were at the hospital, which was around 4-5 hours. We bought him some fruit juice that the doctor said he could drink, but we feel a little bit like his mom needs to be encouraged a lot to give it to him. I saw him drink the juice and it's not necessarily the case that he doesn't drink.

The lady from our church has offered the mother that she will take care of him until he's healthy again. She lives close by, and I know she will take care of him well.

Jonathan has to do some tests tomorrow and then go to the doctor again after the results are in.

Please pray with us that he will get better quickly and start gaining weight again.
